Forging Ahead Under COVID

Totally 446 sets of API-600 gate valves supplied by BEYOND, size ranging from DN50 up to DN550, were finally shipped by truck to Kazakhstan in 30 wood cases.

This order was made by our long-term strategic cooperating partner (Atyrau Refinery LLP Kazakhstan) in Sept., 2021, as an urgent request for its scheduled maintenance operation. To meet up its urgency, we managed to finish all the manufacturing, packing and inland logistics up to Horgos Port within 6 weeks.

However, Horgos port was shut-off on short notice due to aggressive Covid-19 deterioration just before the truck reach the port. The risk exists that even upon arrival of the cargo the port will still be in shut-off.

Facing this unfavorable situation, backup plans take place after our video conference discussion with our customer representative to ensure the healthy level of inventory and supply chain. Comprehensive and continuous analysis with day-to-day monitoring, we decided to trigger an airway delivery which is in standby position.

Luckily, Horgos port was deblocked on November 16th which was a huge relief to everyone. Through the operation arrangement and seamless connection, the unnecessary waiting time is effectively reduced or eliminated, our customer was able to receive the cargo within 7 days after the deblocking of the port operations. Optimizing logistics solution and after-sales service is apparently as important as ensuring the quality and manufacturing efficiency of our products.

In the near future, with strong support from our customer, spare parts inventory will be built and retailed by Beyond directly on the overseas working site. This is a substantial step that we took to strengthen our presence in Kazakhstan.
